It is required to purchase or have access to the equipment listed below in order to:
-Attend 6-hour online class

It is encouraged to purchase or have access to the equipment listed below if:
-Professionals want to use Dr. Adam Kirkpatrick's patented technology in their own practices or research

It is not required to purchase or have access to the equipment
listed below in order to:
-Attend the Voice Master Class
-Attend Coaching Clinics in Voice and SEMG Biofeedback
-Attend the live webinar, Teaching Voice with EMG Biofeedback

If you are interested in incorporating the methods into your practice or are new to the field of biofeedback, there is some equipment required to use his training method. The following EMG equipment can be found online at www.thoughttechnology.com:
-Biograph Infiniti Software
-ProComp5 System
-EMG MyoScan-Pro Sensor (x3)
-Disposable Electrodes

If you have any questions, contact Nadine at Thought Technology. 1-800-361-3651

We've got a tech sheet that explains the hardware requirements. It's a little blurry here, but if you would like a copy of it let us know and we will email the document to you!

Jargon Buzzer!!

Hello! My name is Carly Yarbrough and I am an Education Assistant with the BFE. I started studying biofeedback this past year and, having had to educate myself about all the terminology, I know that it is sometimes hard to keep up with all the jargon! So I’m going to give a brief cheat-sheet to those who, like me, are still very new to the field of biofeedback:

-Biofeedback: the process through which a person becomes aware of and learns to control various physiological functions, such as breathing, heartrate, brain activity and muscle tension.
-Electromyograph (EMG): technique that uses surface electrodes to record muscle activity
-Electroencephalograph (EEG): technique that uses surface electrodes to measure electrical activity of the brain.
-Neurofeedback: EEG biofeedback.

Dr Kirkpatrick's voice training method involves using the lower
laryngeal position while singing. Using EMG biofeedback to monitor
muscle activity in the neck helps a singer to learn which muscles to
contract to achieve this position!

Voice Software Launched at AAPB Conference

Click Here to view press release.
The BFE has a number of software suites that are used in the Performing Arts field, but this is the first one specifically used for voice training. The software was well received at the recent AAPB conference in Baltimore in March. When asked about the new suite, Lawrence Klein, Vice President at Thought Technology commented, “The Voice software is a really exciting product that opens the door for biofeedback practitioners across the country to help singers improve both performance and health. Keeping the voice in top form is important, but mastering a technique that might provide the upper hand at an audition in a highly competitive industry is priceless.”

We are excited and encouraged by the initial reaction we've been receiving and the potential of this suite to assist teachers in singing around the world. We encourage you to follow our blog and share your comments about this rapidly developing field.
